Taste The Fire

Another post which gives you the idea (with good reason) that the only thing we do other than driving, is eat. Which explains why every Monday morning starts with a plan to diet and every Monday afternoon, it's spoiled by a place like this:

El Pollo Loco. The grilled chicken is deeeeeeeeeelicious. Flame grilled right in front of you, marinated, crispy skin and perfectly done. Even if I had a grill in the truck, it wouldn't be worth the effort to make it myself. I usually get two sides; BBQ black beans and spanish rice and it comes with a choice of flour or corn tortillas.

I know they're not in every state, but they are dotted all over the country. We hit them mostly when we're in California. It's kind of like a treat. They're right near the place we park and it's like our California thing.

It doesn't quite make up for the horrible drivers, but it makes it more bearable.
