Forty Years And Counting

The photo above was taken at my grandmother's house in the Bronx in 1978.

I remember this little table all throughout my childhood - I think she had it when I was born but I've yet to find a photo of it at that time - and when my grandparents moved from the Bronx to upstate New York where we lived, the table followed.  After my grandfather died and my grandmother moved to Arizona to live with us, the table came with her.

Now it belongs to me.  I currently have it in an area off of my living room, and I painted it to match some of my other furniture (and to cover the hideous baby-shit brown color my mother painted it several years ago).  I've always loved the slatted top and the Mid-Century Modern tapered legs.

I love having a piece of furniture that belonged to my grandparents.  I can't wait to snag my grandmother's credenza from my mother!
