Giddyup, Yankee!

When we first moved to Tucson from New York my parents both bought cowboy hats.  My stepfather Frank also bought cowboy boots, and the big cowboy belt buckle you can see here.

Two born and raised New Yorkers, from the Bronx, were parading around the Wild West in their jeans and cowboy hats!

In this photo, they are in front of the Copper Queen Hotel in Bisbee, Arizona, a mining town located two hours southeast of where we live.  You can't get any more western than a mining town, where people came to stake their fortunes.

I don't remember how long their cowboy hat phase lasted but I am glad it happened.  And I'm thrilled to have this evidence to share with y'all.

You still can't get a good bagel with a schmear within 2,400 miles of here but I'm sure you can find a barbecued rattlesnake in spittin' distance.
