Lately I've been thinking a lot about going back to Italy. My Rosetta Stone Italian language program is calling to me from the cabinet where it sits in the truck, and I've come across some articles which have me bitten with the Italy bug again.
This time, I think I really want to explore the Northern regions - Piemonte, Valle D'Aosta and Lombardia. I want cooler climates, Italian style. This time though, the trip seems like more of a need, like a craving, that if I don't satisfy it, I won't be right inside.
We've done too many tropical vacations, too many beaches, too much sand. I want to see small villages, snow capped Italian alps, rolling hills, and no beaches anywhere. Even if I head to the Southern portion of the boot, I pledge to stay away from sand!
