A Passion Project

The Sunken Garden

One of the most amazing places we visited while on Vancouver Island in British Columbia was The Butchart Gardens, located in Brentwood Bay.

I have never seen a more amazing display of flowers in my entire life!

The display garden is 120 years old and covers 55 acres.  They have 26 greenhouses, 900 bedding plant varieties, and 50 full-time gardeners.

Read about Jennie Butchart's vision here and how the gardens came to be in what was once a limestone quarry.
