Light, Bright, And Airy

My mother has been a fan of white paint for as long as I can remember.  Everything in our house as a kid, if it had a surface that could be painted, would eventually be white.

The antique china cabinet?  White.

The Adirondack chairs?  White.

The pigeon coop?  White.

The pool deck?  White.

She thinks it makes everything look light, bright, and airy.

My father said if he stood in one place long enough, she'd paint him white too.

I have vivid memories of paint brushes with handles splattered with white paint, bristles wrapped in aluminum foil, neatly lined up on the kitchen counter at the end of the day.

Now she's at it again.  Her big idea to make her kitchen look different?

Paint the already white cabinets....you guessed it.

White.

We made it to the end of day one.  We're both still alive.

I'd call the "reno" at this point, a success.
