Stirring Up The Love

A recent gift from a favorite family member.  These beautiful little spoons are now on display in my kitchen.  I haven't used them yet, but they are definitely going into my regular rotation of favorite cooking utensils.

Thanks, Jules!

Eastbound And Down

We are traveling alongside a Union Pacific Railroad train heading East on our way home. The setting sun hits this beautiful workhorse at just the right angle, making it glow against the storm clouds in the distance.

Union Pacific’s distinctive yellow and gray livery, featuring the large American flag graphic printed across the middle of the locomotive body, makes these powerhouse transport vehicles easy to identify.

On the flat, open terrain of the American Southwest, I’ve seen these locomotives (often several at a time) pull hundreds of cars behind them, and I have seen trains that stretch for more than two miles!

The sight of a train moving through the open landscape holds a quiet poetry - a reminder that distance is just something to be traveled.

Have a good week, travelers!
