I'm Dreaming Of Blue Skies, Key Lime Pie And Pink Flamingos*

Ed and I are vacation home hunting again. This time, in Corpus Christi. I know, I know, I hate Texas, but how can you not LOVE that cute pink tropical island looking condo? VERY cheap and right on the Gulf of Mexico!

Windsurfing for Ed all day long, a nearby Barnes and Noble for me and a place for friends and family to borrow when they are looking for a beach getaway!

Looks like Ed is already making himself comfortable...

* or is that just in Florida?

Something pretty suspicious about a house that far off the ground. Did you notice a waterline on those posts?????

Don,
I know! These are brand new houses - the first two built in a community that plans to have 10 units. But since it's on the Gulf, they have to be built to a hurricane standard and on stilts because of the flooding if there IS a storm.

Hmmmm...maybe not such a great idea after all. LOL

Um, Salena, Do you know what a hurricane is????? Have you seen what they do??? Do you realize why those houses are so high off the ground? Don't do it!

Also, looks like the parking place will be a tight fit for a Freightliner!

Darling houses - especially love the colors.
I grew up in Corpus (we never say the whole thing - just Corpus) and still have my BFF living out on the island. Unfortunately, I am one of those people who did NOT like the soggy salty air and couldn't wait to move away when I was old enough. Landed in the desert, so I traded hot/wet for hot/dry.

I love the look, don't love the outlook. On the Gulf, on stilts, hurricane standards?! Geesh! But it's always nice to dream, isn't it?!
