Also Untouchable Because He's Covered In Black Gold

After delivering our load in Coudersport, Pennsylvania (we called it "cooters-port" but think it's really pronounced "cutters-port" - still not clear on that), Ed decided he would change both the generator oil and the oil in the truck. Now that we have a creeper and an oil receptacle to hold the old oil, it's a job that takes less than an hour to do and it saves us over five thousand dollars a year.

Coudersport is located in the Allegheny Plateau of the Appalachian Mountains. The entire drive, once we left Interstate 80, was on backroads. I was in heaven, because as I mentioned yesterday, I love getting off the highway.

Two interesting facts about Coudersport that I found on Wikipedia:

1. Coudersport is home to a Scottish Rite Consistory. With over 5,000 members, Coudersport's Consistory is the largest consistory in the Scottish Rite by per capita membership.

2. Coudersport was the home of "Untouchable" Eliot Ness at the time of his death.

It was also the temporary home of oil covered Ed:

That could have been a picture of me ten years or so back when I did more work on my own cars and equipment. Does the generator run on gas or diesel?

Since you're sort of in my "back door" turf here, allow me to give you the correct pronunciation of that town -it's "COW-ders-port!" Just like the four-legged species that gives most of us the white milk we ingest or the stuff my Grandson insists be given a tablespoon of Nestles' Quik in order to perform its magical ability to cure every ailment known to man and a five-year-old! Hope you enjoyed your stay there though!
