Texas 'Cue

 

A few years ago when we were in Texas and visiting with Ed's family, we went to a place at the Fort Worth Stockyards called Cooper's BBQ.  It came highly recommended and several of his family members had been there before, so we all decided to try it.

Ed never passes a BBQ joint in Texas.  He even knows the ones that have truck parking so we can get BBQ while on the road.  I didn't grow up with this kind of BBQ - brisket, tri-tip, sausage, pulled pork.  In New York when we said we were going to have a barbeque, it meant we'd be putting hot dogs and hamburgers, steak or chicken, on the grill.

Cooper's serves up true Texan BBQ.  And whenever we go anywhere for BBQ, we overindulge, leaving the place full as a tick.  At Cooper's we tried the brisket, pork ribs, pulled pork, sausage, potato salad, cole slaw, mac & cheese, and green beans.  And, of course, peach cobbler.
