It's Getting So Much Easier These Days To Spot The Idiots

''I could give a flying crap about the political process...we're an entertainment company.''
~ FOX News Channel's Glen Beck, Forbes interview; April, 2010

''I think there is a handful of people who hate America. Unfortunately for them, a lot of them are losing their homes in a forest fire today.''
~ Glenn Beck, on why people who lost their homes in forest fires in California had it coming, Oct. 22, 2007

''I'm thinking about killing Michael Moore, and I'm wondering if I could kill him myself, or if I would need to hire somebody to do it. ... No, I think I could. I think he could be looking me in the eye, you know, and I could just be choking the life out.''
~ Glenn Beck, May 17, 2005

''If you log onto this (Cars.gov) at your home, everything in your home is now theirs.''
~ Glenn Beck, arguing that the Cash for Clunkers program was nothing more than a secret government plot to gain access over your computer, July 2009

''When I see a 9/11 victim family on television, or whatever, I'm just like, 'Oh shut up' I'm so sick of them because they're always complaining.''
~ Glenn Beck, Sept. 9, 2005

''I have been nervous about this interview with you because what I feel like saying is, 'Sir, prove to me that you are not working with our enemies. ... And I know you're not. I'm not accusing you of being an enemy, but that's the way I feel, and I think a lot of Americans will feel that way.''
~ Glenn Beck, interviewing Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN), the first Muslim U.S. congressman, Glen Beck's show on CNN's Headline News, Nov. 14, 2006

''O-L-I-G-A-R-H-Y.''
~ Glenn Beck, misspelling 'oligarchy' on his chalk board while claiming he had deciphered a secret code that he said was proof President Obama was trying to create an 'Oligarhy,''' Glenn Beck show on FOX News Channel, Aug. 27, 2009

''The only [Katrina victims] we're seeing on television are the scumbags.''
~ Glenn Beck on his radio show, Sept. 9, 2005

''This president I think has exposed himself over and over again as a guy who has a deep-seated hatred for white people or the white culture....I'm not saying he doesn't like white people, I'm saying he has a problem. This guy is, I believe, a racist.''
~ Glenn Beck, on President Obama, sparking an advertiser exodus from his FOX News show, July 28, 2009

''I haven't seen Jesus and what he would do on a talk show on Fox, but I'm going to try.''
~ Glenn Beck, FOX News Channel's Glenn Beck show, April 21, 2010

''Every night I get down on my knees and pray that Dennis Kucinich will burst into flames.''
~ Glenn Beck, in 2003

''The plan that He would have me articulate, I think, to you, is get behind Me -- and I don't mean 'me,' I mean Him. Get behind Me. Stand behind Me.''
~ Glenn Beck, speaking on behalf of God on his radio program, April 20, 2010

And last, but not least:

''I say on the air all the time, if you take what I say as gospel, you're an idiot.''
~ Glenn Beck, New York Times, March 29, 2009

unfortunately, a lot of folks will be agreeing with everything he said, except they'll overlook the first and last comments.

So, where are you today?

Sadly I think all politicians are liars. The most convincing liar gets the job.

The quotes from Glenn Beck are just an extreme right wing view. Randi Rhodes is on the same level for the left wing view. They both spend the bulk of the talk show bashing the other and never really make a point worth listening too! Then go home and try to twist half a sentence into a quote taken out of context to further the bashing.

I am watching to see if the Dems pick up on increasing tariffs. Obama increased tariffs on tires and helped create jobs. He recently lifted tariffs on chemicals to make manufacturing in the US cheaper, in turn helping manufacturers hire more people. He is on the right track there.

Increase tariffs on products to be sold on the shelves like from China on the Wal-mart shelves and decrease tariffs on bulk materials used to aid in US manufacturing.

I don't take stock in communism spreading the land, or the falacy that my guns are being taken away, or terrorists rolling down the streets in tanks with M-16's, or any of the other BS that the media wants everyone to be scared about. I don't care about gays getting married and the fact is that making abortion illegal only effects the poor because the wealthy will just leave the country and have their abortions whenever and wherever they want. And making abortion illegal only increases back alley abortions.

I would prefer that people who are pregnant who don't want the baby give up the pregnancy to adoption. My highest concern is education and the creation of jobs here in the US so that our future generations have options and hope. With a strong education platform, kids have better chances to successfully navigate through faulty credit scams and make intelligent decisions about their future instead of this rampant ignorant public who are easily and constantly scared by stories run on tv that aren't even true.

The Glenn Becks, Rush Limbaughs, Sean Hannity's, and Ann Coulters of the world are HIGHLY PAID pundits for the corporations and their interests are simple. Dumb down America and keep them from disrupting the corporate fat cats from bankrolling billions by selling fear and BS.

At the end of the day most people in this country are more worried about whether John can marry John than the ability of their own kids to have a decent education and a place to earn a living. The Koch brothers bankrolled the Tea Party with millions because they know that as soon as America gets their heads out of their asses they will go green and put the likes of the Kochs out of business forever. If you read the news on the internet, you can easily find story after story after story about how the Republican/ Conservative/ Tea/ Libertarian Parties DO NOT have the welfare of the American public at their core.

Their interests are only for the millionaires and billionaires that run the mega corporations no matter what country they exist in. The Dems wont stay in power forever, but the only way I could see not voting for the Dems is if the people of this country form their own party that is not bankrolled by billionaires which actually stands for the towns and counties and states down to the main street USA level. It is unlikely that I will ever see this in my lifetime.

I agree, the dems are way off on the wrong track, way to much social engineering, just way to liberal for me .. I agree with anom, I don't think i'll vote for the dems again, this from a lifer dem..I do like the tea party message less govt, more trust in the people.. I hate these elites that think they must tell us everything, who the hell do they think they are???
if i see more conservative tea party types on the repub side, then I guess that's where this gal's gonna go..

I too kinda like the tea party message.. if anyone really listens to them you'll find they're not the right wing crazies the main media makes them out to be..
I think the media is afraid of just good ol' folk rising up and expressing their distrust and disgust with the way we're currently going..
I am seriously considering these folks, we need a big change

Don't let the fools bother you, I used to beat all of them down with facts and links on various blogs and forums, but the facts just didn't stop them from spreading their ignorance. The Conservatives have nothing factual to run on and they just can't resist spending their time annoying liberals. They just LOVE IT. If they had a brain they would be worth arguing with, but they don't, so the only thing they know how to do is annoy and be pests. After they lose AGAIN this November the rhetoric will die down again for a couple of years. Hopefully forever.

Great post.

It has been great fun watching the tea tards split the rethug vote. It is especially strange in CO right now.

I am horrified at the effect that Citizens United is already having on elections. All that money - they can now buy any elections that they want without even identifying themselves...it isn't going to be pretty.
