Why Couldn't It Have Been The Canola??

I was in the Stop & Shop in Cranston, Rhode Island when I saw they were having a sale on olive oil. Not only was there a sale, but there was also one of those little automated coupon things, that clip to the shelf and spit out coupons as you walk by. The coupon was for $1.00 off the Filippo Berio brand; I usually buy Colavita.

So in my haste to grab several bottles of olive oil, I knocked one off the shelf. Well, actually, I knocked two off the shelf, but only one broke. In my defense, they were lined up very near the edge of the shelf. This was the first time in my entire life I've ever broken anything in a grocery store. I've never even come home with a cracked egg.

I always wondered if it would be embarassing, but since there was no one around to see it happen, I can say I didn't experience that feeling. Ed quickly (I think he was skipping with a huge hahaha! grin on his face) grabbed an employee and pointed out the mess. I apologized and kept on moving.

I made my way to the check-out counter and $237.00 later, we were out of there. Good thing this didn't happen in the truck (what a mess that would have caused) or at my mother's house; at $17.00 a bottle, she would have been scooping it up with the cut edge of a paper plate and pouring it into another jar just not to waste it.

When I first saw that picture I thought it was one of your pictures from Italy. I don't think our local S & S has that big of an olive oil display. I'll have to ask Anne. Then again there more Italians in that are of RI than in my area of CT.

She recognized that it was S & S from ten feet away and told me if I shopped once in awhile I'd recognize it too........

I never by anything but Colavita, I especially like the Fruitatto (not sure if I spelled that right) style.

How lucky are you to be in Rhode Island in a grocery store breaking stuff? Do they even let trucks in the state? Lol there is only one truck stop in the whole state... Ahh Only you Salena! We met some of Kendall's sister's friends and they are from there...we want to go.
