Extra Virgin

I needed olive oil and thought I'd try something different. I bought this one because the olives were from California (some of the best produce I've ever had comes from Cali, and I hear they make some pretty good wines), and I loved the square green bottle.

It's got a beautiful deep yellowish green color and a hearty olive flavor. I think I might have found a new brand!

NOTE: After she read this blog post, my cousin sent me this link to Girl's Gone Child, which spoke about finding a good extra-virgin olive oil. I was happy to see that my new purchase is on the list of good ones!

I heard about the book she read, called Extra Virginity, on a podcast I listen to called The Splendid Table. I was very interested when I heard it, and now I'll have to check it out next time I'm in Barnes & Noble. Thanks, Shawna!
