Just Another Day In New York

We were cruising through New York, approaching the Brooklyn Bridge...

Then passed the exit where you'd get off if you were actually going to take the bridge, when we came upon traffic at a stand still. Not unusual in this area, but the left lanes were moving and the right was just at a crawl...something was up.

Then we saw the reason for the backup - this guy:

Mr. Construction Worker just tooling along at a snail's pace! He didn't even glance our way when we passed - it's not like we could zoom around him - even though I had my nose pressed to the window looking at him as we drove by. I would have hated being in his position - I don't like being the slow one (and I usually am) in the front of a line of traffic. It always makes me think people are cursing me from behind!

Virgil: Thanks for the nice comment! I don't know what's up with Plum Trucker - I've tried to contact her several times now and haven't heard back. I did speak to RuthAnn (of the Bradbury's) and she has been talking to her - the impression I got was that she was a little burnt out on blogging. I sure hope she gets back to it - a lot of people have been asking me about her!!

ELH: That's New York for you - everything is marked wrong! The 11' clearance is actually for the exit, but if you enlarge the picture, you'll see that the bridge that we're about to go under is marked 12'2" - as a New Yorker, I'm going to say it's the ONLY thing we've ever gotten wrong. LOL
