We passed Bridal Veil Falls, which we saw in the distance (but that I could not get a good photo of) and a number of other small waterfalls like this one, called Pitch Fork Falls. The sign says, "460 miles south of Arctic Circle on Meridian. Elevation 1,014 ft. Road built 1895 to 1900. This is one of many scenic spots en route to Atlin and Dawson."
The train cars were very comfortable. They were each equipped with a bathroom and a small gas-powered stove. They offered complimentary bottled water. And there were doors at each end of the car where you could step out onto the platform for better picture-taking.
Here's Ed on the platform.
And here's me!
We enjoyed the trip although I'm not sure it was really worth the money, but hey - when else will we ever be able to ride the same rails the gold miners did? It wasn't on my bucket list, but I can add it and now check it off.
Here's some history on the White Pass and Yukon Route.
