Only The Lonely

America's loneliest road - US Route 50 in Nevada.

We had a 12' 8" wide load so we were following a pilot car - which on this road seems completely unnecessary since I'm pretty sure we can see obstacles from here to California.

So I guess we weren't completely alone.  That's him in front of us.

And in front of him, the road.

Stretching far into the mountains we'd soon cross over.

Needless to say, there wasn't much happening in the cell phone signal department.

Let me tell you, lonely takes on a significantly larger meaning when you don't even have access to cell or internet service.

Salena, You have really outdone yourself with this picture. It is unbelievably beautiful!! I can see no cell signal, but no satellite seems strange.

GIL: Wow. Thanks! As for the Internet, since we use a Verizon Aircard, it's the same as a cell signal. We don't have satellite Internet, only satellite TV. And I didn't even think to see if that worked! (although I'm sure it would...no trees, mountains or clouds to block the signal)

The road goes on forever.... great picture. Do you have all your pics on one page somewhere or link everything to flickr?

SCOTT: That road does go on forever. And it feels like it! I have some photos on Flickr, which I have a link to in my sidebar, but I really should start putting my pictures in one place, rather than only in a post. I'm going to look into creating more sets on Flickr. Thanks for suggesting the extra work! Greeaaaat idea. LOL
